APPEARANCE OF LITHOPONE

Lithopone is a white power, a mixture of barium sulfate and zinc sulfide and it was  non-toxic,tasteless,odorless, and insoluble in water . It is used as one of the important inorganic Chemicals Pigment for its good coloring and hiding power and good weather resistance. In addition , it has a good heat resistance which can improve the weather resistance  and anti-algae, and excellent cover on the white power. And it can also decrease the costs.

USEAGE

It can be applied to all the paints, coatings, thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics and papers, yet it can be used for the preparation of a variety of light-colored paint. Properties: Lithopone is a white pigment composed of a mixture of barium sulfate (28 - 30%) and zinc sulfide (68 - 70%) with trace amounts of zinc oxide.

Applications: It is produced by precipitation through filtering, heating and quenching works. Lithopone has mostly been replaced by titanium dioxide which is more durable, but it is much cheaper. It is used as a base for lake pigment and used as a inert pigment for paint, ink and cosmetics as well as in a large range of applications in plastic industry. It is used as a filler in paper, leather, and linoleum.
