Refractory and technical grade
With a melting point of 2300°C, chromic oxide is commonly used in the production of refractory bricks to line metallurgical and glass furnaces and kilns.

Harder than other metal oxides, such as titanium or iron, chromic oxide is ideally suited to environments where temperature and process conditions are aggressive.

Key applications

	chromic oxide is used in paints and coatings, plastics, enamels, concrete and other construction materials where colour strength is a key factor
	in the ceramic industry, it is mixed with metal oxides to produce pigments that vary in shade from black to yellow
	our hydrated product is used by the cosmetics and personal care industries to colour bar soaps and eye shadows
	we have even developed a dark green version with high infrared reflectance for use in camouflage
